ALPFA Elmhurst University officially launched in August 2025 — recruiting at the university's Involvement Fair and building corporate relationships from day one.
That foundation paid off fast. In September, our Chapter Kickoff Networking Event brought in three ALPFA Chicago professionals and 60+ student attendees, while a Google Corporate Tour gave members a firsthand look at corporate culture and career pathways. In October, "From Prayers to Voices of the Future" drew 25+ professionals for a day focused on career development, leadership, and community.
Throughout the fall, the chapter built partnerships across campus — collaborating with the EU Business Club, Public Health, Elmhurst Cares, the Latino Student Association, Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity Inc., and Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority Inc. — while staying active in ALPFA Chicago's professional circuit.
By January and February, membership had grown to 81 active students, and the chapter hosted an RSM Headquarters Tour and a Healthcare Industry Panel — continuing the focus on real industry exposure.
By the numbers: 50+ members at launch → 81 by spring · 92,000+ professionals in the ALPFA national network · 6 majors represented on campus.
Corporate & community partners: Google, RSM, Ally, PepsiCo, Wintrust.
A chapter's first year often determines whether it becomes a fixture on campus or fades after the initial momentum. ALPFA EU has already shown which path it's on.
The founding board has since graduated, but the chapter didn't lose its leadership or its momentum. That founding group now forms a close-knit alumni association, staying connected through ALPFA Chicago — including Jonathan and Kim, who continue to co-lead Corporate Relations even after graduating. That team has since grown to include Dustin (DJ) and Martin, giving sponsors a larger, more consistent point of contact than before. Meanwhile, day-to-day chapter leadership has transitioned to a restructured executive cabinet — Emily (President), Kamiyah (VP of Governance), and Mia (VP of External Affairs, who came up through the chapter's original board) — proof that the leadership pipeline works in practice, not just on paper.
Combined with ongoing collaborations across campus and continued involvement with ALPFA Chicago, sponsors aren't funding a single year's programming — they're investing in a chapter that has already demonstrated it can renew and sustain itself.
ALPFA's national network connects sponsors to over 92,000 professional and student members, with access to 50,000+ paid summer internships through Fortune 1000 partners. At Elmhurst University, that network comes to life through "ALPFAmilia" — our chapter's culture of togetherness, mentorship, and shared growth. Partnering with ALPFA EU means investing directly in the next generation of Latino business leaders, with visibility and access to our growing membership.
Every gift helps fund the workshops, panels, and networking opportunities that connect ALPFA EU students with their future careers. Whether it's $10 or $500, your contribution moves us closer to our goal — and helps build the next generation of Latino business leaders at Elmhurst.
